It was before 6 pm on a Wednesday and though we were assured a dry day, it hadn't stopped raining! James and me were sitting talking about the weekend's golf rankings, waiting for the next call of the day to come in. Before long we had the call from a young lady on a company trip who had arrived at the Esso petrol station in Wendover Dean and filled the wrong fuel in a diesel Jaguar rental car in error. She was rather irritated it seemed, telling me "I can not believe I've messed up the vehicle! I am so used to filling up my petrol car that I had forgot I was running a diesel!" I just told her to calm down and not to worry, also that such things regrettably can happen. She managed to maneuver the vehicle into a protected position and, as it was only a few minutes from our van, we could reach the lady fairly quickly. The bad fuel was removed so she could get back to the motel she was residing in. Even though we got fairly wet, it was all worthwhile to watch her drive off relaxed and a lot less worried.
