AdBlue In your Fuel

In Cambridgeshire we are finding increasingly more instances of AdBlue contamination when a person has poured AdBlue straight into their diesel fuel tank. This is mainly due to people not being totally sure the right way to work with it (note: it is not a fuel additive), and partially due to the fact that the inlets for diesel and AdBlue are usually directly adjacent to each other on the automobile.

Well, exactly what is the issue with having AdBlue in a diesel car? Seeing that AdBlue is mainly deionised water, it's nearly as good as putting water in to your tank. Diesel and water tend not to blend at all and attempting to run a diesel car on water will not work. Additionally, the urea is particularly corrosive to your fuel system pipes and seals and is susceptible to crystallisation, obstructing injectors and fuel filters.
