It was just after 8 pm on a Thursday and even though we were promised a rainless day, it hadn't stopped raining! James and I were relaxing talking over the weekend's sports rankings, at the ready for the next call of the day to come in. Inevitably we got the call from a woman on a business expedition who had pulled into the BP filling station in Boothsdale and filled petrol in her diesel Mercedes rental car in error. She was rather distressed apparently, stating "I still cannot believe I've destroyed the vehicle! I'm just so accustomed to filling up my petrol vehicle I had did not remember I was using a diesel!" We advised her to calm down and not to be concerned, plus that things like this sadly do happen. She had managed to move the car into a protected area and, seeing that it was only a few miles away from the office, we could arrive at the lady fairly quickly. The bad fuel was extracted so she could return to the hotel she was living in. Although we got pretty drenched, it was all worthwhile to see her drive home calm and a lot less worried. Another misfuel correction in Cheshire well done in my mind!
