AdBlue In Your Diesel

Throughout Cheshire we are noticing an increasing number of instances of AdBlue contamination when a motorist has put AdBlue straight into their diesel tank. This is mostly as a consequence of people not understanding the right way to work with it (note: it is not a fuel additive), and to some extent simply because the filler caps for diesel and AdBlue are generally directly adjacent to one another on the car.

Now, what's the matter with putting AdBlue in a diesel car? Because AdBlue is predominantly deionised water, it is actually almost the same as putting water in your tank. Diesel and water will not blend in the slightest and trying to run a diesel car on water will not work. In addition, the urea is incredibly corrosive to fuel system hoses and seals and is prone to crystallisation, damaging injectors and filters.
