Finally we received a phone call from a woman on a business trip who had pulled into the Sainsburys filling garage in Staffords Corner and filled petrol in her diesel Ford lease car in error. The poor lady was fairly distressed by the sounds of it, stating "I still can't believe I have wrecked the car! I'm so used to filling my petrol vehicle I had didn't remember that I was using a diesel!" I just asked her to calm down and not to fret, plus that such things unfortunately can happen. She had managed to relocate the car to a protected space and, seeing as it was just a few miles away from our van, we could reach the customer quickly. The incorrect fuel was taken out so she could get back to the hotel she was residing in. Wrong Fuel in Car Staffords Corner - Staffords Corner Fuel Rescue
I had a perfect afternoon cycling during my holiday and was feeling delighted with myself the following working day as I was on the way to aid a young couple who were on holiday in Staffords Corner. They pulled over after filling diesel into their Honda, and the car was around an hour away. I arrived at their location and smiled while I listened to the wife telling off her partner for actually being so stupid. "How could you conceivably find a way to put the wrong fuel in the vehicle?" she told him. I wanted to clarify that this situation goes on on a regular basis in Essex and that it's really nothing to be concerned about, nevertheless he still had an ear bashing. I felt sorry for the lad. Anyway, I removed the contaminated fuel, gave the fuel system a flush and gave them some right fuel. Watching them drive down the road I waved bon voyage and wondered what my wife would tell me if ever I made the very same error... I'd never hear the end of it!

This was the night shift. It was roughly dawn and almost noone was stirring. It had become quite uneventful up to now, and Ray and I were sitting around browsing a couple of old papers. That was an uncommon peaceful moment in Essex. It was so calm that the moment my mobile inevitably rang it made me jump! The person stated: "I completed my overnight shift and stupidly filled petrol in the Audi by mistake". We got him to let us know just where he was and we hit the road, reaching him in Staffords Corner not as much as an hour later. The fuel was cleaned up and removed from the vehicle. He thanked us for arriving so quickly. As we were heading back home we spotted two women on the side of the road who seemed like they suffered a flat. As a result we got out to change it, to their elation.
