It was about 10 pm on a Friday and though we were promised a rainless evening, it had not ceased pouring down rain! Brian and me were resting talking over the golf results, prepared for the 6th fuel drain of the day to arrive. In due time we had the call from a woman on a company trip who had gone to the BP filling garage in Blaenavon and put the wrong fuel in a diesel Citroen lease car in error. She was somewhat agitated by the sounds of it, stating "I still can't believe that I have messed up the vehicle! I'm so accustomed to filling my petrol car I had did not remember that I was operating a diesel!" I advised her to take it easy and not to be concerned, and also that such things sadly happen. She was able to maneuver the car to a safe position and, because it was no more than a few minutes away from the office, we were able to get to the woman right away. The contaminated fuel was removed and she was able to get back to the Travelodge she was staying in. Despite the fact we got very drenched, it was all worth the time to see her drive home relaxed and less stressed. Yet another misfuel correction in Torfaen well done in my opinion!

Our Areas of Competence :

Here's a list of the wrong fuel services we provide.

AdBlue In your Fuel

In Torfaen we have discovered a lot more occurrences of AdBlue contamination where an individual has put AdBlue straight into their diesel tank. This is to a degree due to people being unsure of how to work with it (important: it's not a fuel additive), and in part due to the fact that the inlets for diesel and AdBlue are typically right next to one another on the vehicle.

Well, what is the issue with putting AdBlue in the diesel vehicle? Seeing as AdBlue is mainly deionised water, it is actually almost the same as pouring water in your tank. Diesel and water really don't mix in any way and trying to run a diesel car on water isn't going to work. In addition to this, the urea is particularly corrosive to the fuel system lines and seals and is prone to crystalising, clogging injectors and filters.

Call us if you have suffered from AdBlue contamination. We can help. We are Contaminated Fuel Specialists and are able to handle every type of AdBlue fluid contamination.

Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, no matter whether it is unleaded or diesel, is usually an important condition to address in a motor vehicle - particularly in advanced common-rail engines. Having water inside your diesel or petrol will often lead to idling problems, lumpy running, excessive smoke and, if it's not sorted out properly, oftentimes broken injectors. Having water in petrol is less complicated to get rid of as compared to water in diesel - primarily because diesel is an oil. Nevertheless we can take care of both cases pretty expediently.

Take note though that in the event that the vehicle has been run on the water contamination it will likely need a new fuel filter fitted as the old one will undoubtedly be thoroughly water-logged and unusable.

Marine Fuel Drains

If you find you've got the incorrect fuel, or perhaps dirty fuel (most usually water contamination or old fuel) in a boat we can certainly help remove it. Assuming that the boat is either dry-docked, or situated near to a car or truck parking bay we are able to gain access to the storage tanks and drain out the fuel. We've done quite a few fuel drains at marinas and boatyards across the country.}

Waste Fuel Management

Got a fuel container sitting at the back of your premises full of unwanted, unusable or degraded fuel? We are able to assist you to dispose of it. We have been called out to numerous privately owned and commercial properties in Torfaen to deal with draining and recycling fuel storages. We are covered by the Environment Agency to be able to remove and dispose of waste fuel safely and legally. Irrespective of whether the fuel storage is a subterranean reservoir, a mobile bowser, or perhaps some drums in an outbuilding, as long as we are able to access it, we could certainly empty it.
