AdBlue In your Fuel

Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, whether it is unleaded or diesel, is in many cases a serious issue to take care of in a vehicle - specifically in modern day common-rail engines. Having water in the fuel will cause idling difficulties, uneven running, increased smoke and, if it is not taken care of fully, possibly blown injectors. Having water in petrol is less difficult to drain in comparison with water in diesel - this is largely because diesel is an oil. In spite of this we can resolve both cases fairly simply.

Remember however that so long as the vehicle was started on the fuel contaminated with water it will probably require a new fuel filter to be fitted simply because the old one will undoubtedly be totally wet and ineffective.
